Mathematics Quiz 2020-21
The Department of Applied Sciences, Mathematics and Humanities organized a National Level Mathematics Quiz 2020-21 on 19 June 2021 for first year and second year science and engineering students. This quiz is aimed to develop interest among the students towards Mathematics. This quiz will create an awareness about topics in Mathematics which help them to learn Mathematics during higher studies. This Quiz was organized in online mode due to a pandemic situation. The Quiz was based on the basics of Mathematics from 12th Standard Mathematics and first & second year science and Engineering mathematics.
The quiz is organized in two parts. First part was the elimination round which was successfully
conducted through online mode on 5th March 2020. Elimination round had 50 MCQ questions,2 marks each. The registration fees for the mathematics quiz was Rs.50. There were a total 341 participants for the elimination round. Out of which 189 students successfully completed round 1. Top 5% students from first year and second year each are selected for the second round of the quiz and out of these 5%, top 6 students from FE and SE each are selected for the final round by conducting a second elimination round. The final quiz was conducted on 19th June 2021 in online mode through Google meet.
The Winners of the Quiz were awarded a cash prize and a certificate of appreciation. The remaining three participants from first and second year were also awarded with certificates of appreciation. The top 5 students from the audience round were also awarded with a cash prize. The students who had qualified for the elimination round were awarded with certificates of participation.

Mathematics Quiz 2018
Department of Applied Mathematics organized its annual activity, Mathematics Quiz on 6th October, 2018 for the First year and Second year engineering students. The main objective of this quiz was to make students understand the basics of Applied Mathematics in an interesting and challenging way. This would be a great help for those students who prepare for competitive examinations like Gate. Six groups consisting of twenty-four students were selected for final quiz after elimination round. The final quiz had three rounds namely Mastermind round, Bonus round and Fastest Finger round. The first three winning groups were awarded with cash prizes of rupees five thousand, three thousand and two thousand respectively and rest of the finalists were given the certificate of participation.
